Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading a team dedicated to the Kroger account within TBA Category Leadership. The director and is accountable establishing and delivering objectives aligned with strategic direction.
Responsibilities

* Ad Hoc Sales Support
* Support for key meetings
* ROI/Post Promo Analysis
* New Opportunity - Category Solutions utilizing Consumers Insights (84.51, Kroger Execution data, Wine Warehouse reporting, etc....)
* Develop account specific TBA category leadership strategy for in partnership with Shopper & Guest Solutions Initiative and Channel Insights teams.
* Understand and communicate unique account dynamics to key stakeholders and recommended needed adjustments (tools, resources, approach, etc).
* Strengthen existing retailer relationships through continuous engagement with category management teams at the account providing strategic thinking and expertise in TBA category leadership.
* Participate in \"top to tops\" and joint business planning meetings.
* Develop and provide input to long-term strategy presentations.
* Work across Category Management leadership team to identify upcoming project work across and allocate resources appropriately to efficiently complete the work in a timely manner.
* Ensure cross functional collaboration and alignment with other departments including BU sales teams, Innovation, Commercial Insights, National Sales, and Sales Strategy.
* Responsible for management of a team of Category Managers dedicated to an account.
* Establish measurable, actionable department goals aligned with Shopper and Guest Solutions strategies and initiatives.
* Ensure department strategies are synchronized with other department leads and that clear alignment exists to support stated strategies.
* Define clear priorities, assist team in prioritizing initiatives and category management opportunities.
* Grow a world class Category Leadership Services team through employee development, talent review & succession planning.
* Ensure members of the team have appropriate technical skills, training, data, tools, and process to delivery on goals.
* Responsible for measuring, score carding and communication of team performance to leadership and back to employees - ensuring outputs are clearly mapped to goals and purposes.
Differentiating Responsibilities
* Director level position is responsible for a high volume, strategic national customer. (Roughly the top three accounts for Beer and Wine & Spirits)
Role Qualifications
* 3+ years of sales, merchandising, or retail store management experience.
* 5+ years of category management, consumer or shopper insights, or research experience which included the management of the entire category (not sub-categories or segments), across a range of large or strategically important customers such as national retail chains.
* Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills to lead and mentor a team.
* Ability to build strong relationships, initiate action and adjust to change are key attributes of this role
* Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
* Proficient in the use of all category management software, concepts, analytical techniques; have a thorough understanding of syndicated data.
* Bachelor's degree is required, MBA or equivalent is preferred
* Ability to travel by plane approximately 50%
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
* Must be able to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
* Must have close vision, distant vision, ability to adjust focus, peripheral and color vision.
* Must be able to work in an office environment primarily but periodically required to work in a warehouse environment with variable temperatures and lighting
* Should be able to lift 40 lbs. on occasion
