**Purpose of Role:**
The primary function of the Plumbing Pro is to serve as the store expert on plumbing-related merchandise. This includes providing both customers and employees with comprehensive information on plumbing-related merchandise, assisting customers in assembling, cutting, selecting, and loading merchandise, and training associates in the department. The Plumbing Pro is responsible for promoting Lowe's services and maximizing potential sales by explaining features, creating quotes, and selling installations. The Plumbing Pro is also
responsible for managing inventory levels and pricing documentation to support sales and ensuring products are stocked and displayed according to standards. The Plumbing Pro also follows up with customers and vendors based on jobs and materials sold to ensure all project requirements are satisfied, and pulls merchandise for internet orders. The Plumbing Pro is also required to maintain the safety and security of the store. Lastly, the Plumbing Pro is responsible for completing all other duties as assigned.
+ Ensures customers are greeted immediately; and responds knowledgeably to all customer and employee questions.
+ Provides customers with knowledge of products and related accessories specific to the plumbing or electrical trade.
+ Assists customers as needed in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
+ Demonstrates detailed knowledge of all stock and special order merchandise in department, feature benefits, application, and warranty information to customers.
+ Conducts daily safety and hazmat reviews (DSHR) by walking down aisles and noting and correcting any issues.
+ Maintains Lowe's merchandising, housekeeping, safety, and security standards. Down stocks by noting areas where merchandise is low, moving top stock into alignment with display on middle shelving; and completes
+ daily IRPs (Inventory Replenishment Program).
+ Ensures good housekeeping standards are in place, and programs, such as Area Recovery, are executed daily to guarantee that the store (including work areas) is clean and organized at all times.
+ Detects common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicates them to management and/or Loss Prevention.
+ Sells installations (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing) by explaining features, creating quotes based on drawings, obtaining item numbers and prices, and using the system (e.g., Genesis, Selling Center).
+ Follows up daily on order management status and contacts customers and vendors, as required.
+ Understands and promotes ProServices, Installed Sales, Special Order Sales, MyLowes, call ahead/fax order, delivery, and credit programs.
+ Provides all cutting services within Lowe's (e.g., cuts and threads pipes, cuts wire).
+ Answers questions and troubleshoots customer issues on assembling or disassembling products.
+ Responds quickly to code 50's, call buttons, departmental pages, or Manager on Duty (MOD) requests for assistance.
+ Ensures merchandise is stocked and fronted in assigned area according to planogram.
+ Pulls product for internet orders and Helps in other departments as necessary.
+ Follows-up with customers to ensure all order and project requirements are satisfactorily met.
+ Notifies Manager/Manager on Duty (MOD) of customer complaints, dissatisfaction, and procedure violations.
+ Ensures inventory levels are adequate to support sales through personal review, intervention, and frequent communication with management.
+ Reviews due file and checks for jobs and materials sold; follows up with customers; and keeps customers up to date on projects.
+ Ensures advertised products are available and properly displayed.
+ Keeps supervisor informed of staffing, merchandising, and other issues.
+ Asks for special orders based on local market needs.
+ Assists with the training of all sales floor associates in the department.
+ Ensures non-productive inventory such as discontinued and non-stock is disposed of in a timely manner per Lowe's guidelines.
+ Trains new associates and ensures associates are certified in the department.
+ Ensures department is market specific and reports any needs to a manager.
+ Maximizes sales and sales margin by identifying sales opportunities and through the successful execution of the in-home selling model.
+ Meets department sales and specialty budgets.
+ Provides prompt support to all checkout functions.
+ 1 year experience selling plumbing supplies.
+ **OR** 2 years experience working as a plumber in industry.
+ **OR** 2 years trade or vocational school in the plumbing trade.
+ 1 year experience working with contractors in a sales role or in the field.
+ 6 months retail sales experience.
+ Licensure or certification in the plumbing trade.
+ Licensure or certification as a plumbing inspector.
