The Cell Therapy field is undergoing an exciting period of rapid growth and expansion as stem cell-derived and other cell based therapies, such as CAR-T, are successfully making the transition to the clinic. To sustain the current trajectory, scientists in the field are experiencing an increasing need for technical support with the novel technologies being developed to support the transition from bench to bedside. Thermo Fisher Scientific engages with partners from translational centers, biotech and pharma companies, hospitals and academic institutions who play a key role in the R&D, process development and commercialization of cell therapy programs. Growing relationships and providing technical support to our clients is an essential part of our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The successful candidate will serve as the technical expert on our cell therapy portfolios, providing pre and post sales product support, leading seminars and demos, and running internal and external training as needed.
Serve as customer-facing technical expert, demonstrating intimate knowledge of products and familiarity with priorities and challenges in the field
Provide field and remote support to our sales organization by providing customers with technical guidance (pre & post sales activities)
Deliver scientific seminars and host round table discussions
Develop and lead hands on workshops, demos, and trainings
Provide market sensing mechanism, identifying new opportunities and highlighting gaps in current portfolio
Interface with R&D and product management teams to serve as liaison between customers and business
Attend conferences and events to grow technical knowledge and capture developing trends
Interact with marketing teams to drive new initiatives and develop customer-facing content
Interface with the global technical training teams and share best practices across organization
Required: Bachelors degree in Biology, Cell Biology, or related discipline.
Requires a minimum of 3 years experience working in immunotherapy or other cell therapy field
Candidate will be proficient with CAR-T workflow and viral transfection
Experience working with closed system cell manufacturing platform highly desired.
Must possess strong understanding of customer challenges associated with transition to clinical workflow (scale up, regulatory requirements, GMP manufacturing, etc)
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of an organization and customers.
Demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers as well the ability to handle confidential and proprietary information.
Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude and perform as a team player.
Must excel in customer-facing role and enjoy interfacing with cross functional teams
Geography: East Coast, preferably Boston or Washington, DC. Consideration will be given to exceptional candidates outside of Boston/DC with understanding that this will increase travel commitment.
Works in an office and lab environment. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 70% of time to support customers and sales specialists.
